Luz - lights flickering

Our lights have been flickering off and on, brownouts and surges.
It looks similar to a time last year before we had the neutral cable at the line pole on the street reconnected to ground. Do these get corroded and need regular reconnection?
Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,

After reconnecting the neutral wire at the light pole all is well. So, I assume that was the problem.

did you call Ensa to do that or did you do it yourself? I ask because I may have the same problem, but I'm not sure if it's ENSA's job to fix it or not.

thanks

A few months ago I hired a local worker to check it out and he re-connected the neutral cable. I watched. This time I did it.

Not sure if Ensa would think it's their job or not since this was the drop from the telephone pole at the street to my breaker panel .

I wouldn't advise anyone to do this if they don't understand wiring.

I believe ENSA has responsibility up to the meter and from the meter on is the property owner's responsibility. However, I bet that if you called ENSA and opened a solicitud, they would come out and check it for you. If it's your problem, my guess is that you could offer the ENSA person some cash to fix it at that moment.

Corrosion of the neutral connection at the meter or pole is a common problem in this environment. I know of several cases. ENSA is responsible for correcting this ploblem.
Only qualified electrician should attempt repairs.
